Reaching for the Starman is about finding inspiration from our heroes. This was painted in honor of the artist Catherine Jeffery Jones and was included in the art book for the documentary "Better Choices: The Life of Catherine Jeffery Jones". I picked my favorite work by Jones, created a master copy of the Starman and added my own painting of a young person, reaching towards their inspiration in the stars.
I saw the documentary at a screening during the first Spectrum Live convention. I was deeply moved by Catherine's life story. This is painting has a lot of personal symbolism about using imagination to become a hero.
